Masonry Restoration (Stan & Greg)
Ram’s head is complete
Stone slab to replace the slab in the pillar will be $1,075 more expensive than they thought, but we are still within our allocated funding.
The head: Originally we approved $350 to make the mold, and $100 to make the casting. Mainly this was to record the remaining animal head. Another purpose was to possibly make more castings as a fundraiser. The composite material can withstand exterior weather. The company will make them for $125 each. How much would we sell them for? Numbers suggested were $250 and $500 (group began to settle on $250).
Questions were asked about making a lighter weight version, since the current casting is very heavy, and would be appropriate as a lawn ornament but not as a wall hanging.
Greg Krobot plans to have a display at the Gala inquiring about interest in purchases of castings. He will also check on lighter materials.
Motion: Sell ram’s head casting options at the Gala for $250. (Krobot/Anderson) Passed.

Motion: Allocate maximum of $300 to cable the Kentucky coffee bean tree with the split at the north end of the Shelter House parking lot. (Krobot/Vogt) Passed.

Main Discussion – Gala Planning
Rick H made the case that since we only raise money at this one event, it seems appropriate to raise the price. Also, we need to pay for tent, heaters, and bar items.
Motion: Increase admission cost from $40 to $50 in person, and $40 pre-sale available online. (Kentner/Anderson)
Discussion: It’s standard practice to have an advance price discount. SNC on-line sales are depended on. Maddy is comfortable with the pre-sale, but she is not comfortable with the increase in price. Various comments about whether or not a $10 increase for day-of cost is reasonable. Do we have a sense of specific costs for tent and such? At least $500. Opposed: three, Motion passed.
