Walks and Talks: Up Close Encounters with Birds of Prey

Have you seen hawks flying in your neighborhood and been mesmerized by them? Come learn more about them as Joe Dorrian, the owner of the Ohio School of Falconry, will bring his group of hawks, owls, falcons to Goodale Park. You will learn about the ancient sport of falconry with a focus on history, training techniques and equipment, raptor ecology, and conservation. Some of you will also have the chance to handle and fly a trained Harris’s Hawk to your glove.

Meet at the Caretaker’s Residence in the Center of the Park. Talks begin at 7:00 PM, except for the Fall Tree Tour. You are welcome to come at 6:30 PM to enjoy refreshments provided by At Home by High.
